It hasn’t taken long for streaming music services such as Rdio, Spotify, MOG and Deezer (to name a few) to cement their value within the ever changing landscape of digital consumption.
It was BBC News that reported the drastic figures stating that the overall service had seen global growth upwards of 40% and is looking to generate $1 Billion globally in 2012.
This makes on-demand streaming the fastest growing sector in the industry, pushing past downloads that only saw an 8.5% increase.
Don’t get too boisterous though, CDs and vinyl still dominate sales accounting for a whopping 61% sold worldwide (woo, vinyl heads).
How does music streaming sit with you though? Have you hopped on the train yet?
