Watch: Digitalism’s New Video for “Falling”

Digitalism just debuted their music video for “Falling“, one of six brand new tracks on their DJ Kicks compilation (22 tracks in all) released on !K7 Records. Directed by Kurt Augustyn, a favorite of Soulwax, the video is a whimsical assortment of bright geometric shapes, cute kids from the 80s petting bunnies, kaleidoscopes, flowers, animals (real and fake), random female silhouettes…basically a parody of a children’s show on acid – what’s not to like?

The innocent, slow-paced images are cleverly paired with the track’s playful energy – a classic Digitalism soundscape.

The duo commented on their return to a “dancier” sound with “Falling” and the other new tracks on their DJ Kicks compilation:

“Whenever we do something for too long (in our eyes), we tend to do the opposite next. We did the full concert thing (including live drums etc) last year, and our last album was very song-based, so it was natural for us to make a few new dancier tracks. There was no concept behind the new songs, we just jammed around. Once they were done, we loved them so much that there was no way around putting them on the next possible release. People out there shouldn’t have to wait too long.”
