Is this new music from The Avalanches?

The Avalanches have teased us with what could be new material in the form of yet another obscure mixtape posted on the head-scratching Pinchy & Friends site.

A difference from the first mix ‘Sleepy Bedtime Mix For Young Ones’ posted earlier this year – is a tracklisting donating the last jam as “a track that my or may not be The Avalanches”.

Upon listening to the new ‘Cool Gays by Cool Gaze’ ‘tape we’re faced with an eclectic set of tracks, from what seems like buzzing 80’s electro-beat to fellow Australian duo Canyons with “Apples and Pears”.

Hopefully, just hopefully this is the follow up to the critically acclaimed ‘Since I Left You’ released all the way back in 2000.

We just like the artwork looks like Mr Garrison from South Park… with a moustache!

Update: a little bit of sniffing around shows the designers of the page are Ludlow Kingsley, an LA based wed design and creative studio.

Also this description is embedded within the site “Pinchy and friends is a mix tape site featuring mixes by an eclectic group of contributors from a variety of creative fields.”

The ‘Secret Information’ page also lists out a set of flashing names includes Robbie Chater and Darren Seltmann, two of the current members of The Avalanches.
