Bristol’s bass wonder boy and label chameleon Julio Bashmore is continuing to broaden the sounds of house music with his remix of Bobby Womack’s “Love Is Gonna Lift You Up.” The " target="_blank">original track was just released last month on Womack’s newest album The Bravest Man in The Universe and came readied with house elements. But Bashmore’s remix gives it a slightly deeper, darker vibe and translates perfectly from soul to house with Womack’s iconic, resounding voice overlaying the added synths and drumbeats.

The official release of the remix will be from Bashmore’s own label, Broadwalk Records, which is a huge feat for him considering he’s been straddling several prominent labels for the past few years, including Dirtybird, Night Slugs, Ten Thousand Yen, PTN, fabric and Soul Motive: “Somehow I have found time between jet-setting around the globe, becoming a voice for the people via my Radio One show and generally living the high life to bring you a brand new label, Broadwalk Records…a new era in the Julio Bashmore chronicles, with a sound that shall echo through the ages…”.
