DROP THE LIME – OUTLAWS

Ever since Brooklyn’s slick Trouble & Bass Don dove into the realm of country-rock fusion a few years ago with the formation of his Rockabilly band, DTL’s stylistic transition to guitar wielding and catchy vocals has been both refreshing and bewildering. For many of us who cherish his bass-heavy, hard-hitting dancefloor thrashers that melt our faces and our raver hearts, his Wild West inspiration has been a major shift in gears. But it’s not so out of the blue for someone who started playing guitar when he was a bitty 7-year-old, and has been pushing the boundaries of dance music back to his pre-rave, rock n’ roll roots with creative integrity.

“Outlaws” is the supreme union of “Dance music drunk on Rock N’ Roll“, a glorious synthesis of country and techno that he’s coined as “Dropabilly.” So if you’re looking for a tune with a bit of good, bad and ugly all at once, grab the download, graciously gifted by DTL as “One of the biggest tunes of my sets this year. All yours for free! Enjoy.”

And brace yourself for DTL’s upcoming album drop in July – you can listen to the “Enter the Night” mini-mix here, and also check out his Summer Smash mix here.
