Virgin install studio at Heathrow Airport

Virgin are ticking all the boxes as they aim to throw in all the bells and whistles of comfort in the air and now on the ground for artists and musicians with the installation of a recording studio at Heathrow Airport.

The ‘industry standard recording studio’ is set up in their  $11 million dollar clubhouse at the airport which aims to “cope with the demands of the numerous creative professionals and musicians who choose to fly with the airline”.

“From now on any musician in need of a place to do some last minute editing, or to indulge a creative spark”, Virgin continue, “can use the studio’s industry standard digital editing and mixings system to do so. Once finished, the tracks can be emailed or uploaded to a record company or broadcaster direct from the Clubhouse.”

The suite offers Pro Tools and the ability for artists to email or upload projects directly to labels, producers or radio stations.

Ben Nemes of Avid, the company behind the suite, said: “The music and media industries have changed dramatically recently, the pace of creation and consumption is quicker than ever and deadlines are tight, requiring fast turnarounds and the ability to produce the finished article on the move. Virgin Atlantic’s decision to create the world’s only airside production suite is the recognition of these needs in creative customers.”

The clubhouse currently features a fully stocked bar, hot stone therapy and retro video games.
