A 23 year old stock broker from London has set the record for the biggest booziest bar tab ever spent in one night at a club in the world.

In a true sign of ‘sticking’ it to the economic crisis, Alex Hope went to PlayGround night club in Liverpool and knocked up a UK£204,000 drinks bill including a very happy bar staff tip of £18,540, beating the £170,000 paid last June by professional US gambler Don Johnson at One nightclub, London.

Majority of Mr Hopes “coin” was spent on a 30-liter bottle of Armand de Brignac champagne AKA the Ace of Spades which is famously endorsed by rapper turned loving father Jay Z. The funny thing is one clubber who observed Mr Hope said: “He didn’t seem to be drinking a lot and looked totally sober.”

In what may be seen as a last ditch attempt to get laid or have an orgy Mr Hope also ordered 40 75cl bottles of Armand de Brignac in which were handed out to single ladies in “da” club.

First world gluttony huh.
