Now I’ve known this song for quite a while and should’ve shared this with you guys waay earlier then. I must admit I’m a sucker for 80s influenced music; big drums, lush synths, retro feels. Totally my sound.

Now this remix by Miami Nights 1984, one of the man behind the Rosso Corsa Collective, has everything above checked: big gated reverb snare, solid synthworks and retro-futuristic melodies along with Gotye’s powerful vocal. It gives a completely new feeling to the song with different chord progression giving it a whole new level of coolness that replaces the melancholic (I guess?) feeling of the original. And it also comes with a metropolitan-themed video shots that really compliment the mood of the song.

Apparently Gotye himself liked it so much that it’s set for a release in his own label as a limited vinyl release sometime soon. Too bad I don’t have a vinyl player!
