EMI to launch dance only network

EMI have finally caught onto this funny trend of dance music dominating the musical market and announced a EMI Dance Network, a global A&R agency that is destined for big things.

The network has been set up to bring together specialists in dance music from around the world and focus on delivering results for artists in every major market, supporting them across all revenue streams through a globally integrated approach to the genre.

The network will be overseen by Bart Cools, EMI Music’s executive VP for marketing in Europe and the Rest of the World. EDM artists promoted under the EMI Dance Network banner will continue to receive A&R support from their existing label relationships to complement this new global delivery structure, says the label.

EMI’s roster currently includes electronic acts The Chemical Brothers, Daft Punk, David Guetta, Depeche Mode, Dirty Vegas, Fatboy Slim, LCD Soundsystem, Swedish House Mafia, to name a few.  EMI Dance Network represents the latest in a major label record shift towards more progressive genres.
