It’s official, two of the “highest” performing musicians around have come together to create an album but of a genre you would not think!

We found out earlier today via MTV that Snoop Dogg and Diplo have been creating an album for sometime and learned exactly where these guys are going sonically.

“Snoop Dogg is an icon, man; he’s bigger than the music. What we’re doing is a reggae record,” Diplo said. “It’s all reggae and he’s singing and he’s doing a fucking awesome job and I never knew it, but he had his heart in every song.

Of the two, Diplo holds the strongest ties to the genre with his late 2010 release on Mad Decent, Riddimentary: Diplo Selects Greensleeves.
