Detroit rapper featuring on the new Avalanches album

In an interview with Pitchfork, Detroit rapper Danny Brown has confirmed details of a song collaboration on the Avalanches hotly anticipated forthcoming album (something we’ve been expecting for a few years now).

Following the release of his acclaimed ‘XXX’ album last year and references to a young ODB the rapper’s manager was contacted by the group – Danny explains the hook-up; “I did a new song on the album. It’s called ‘Frank Sinatra’. They contacted my manager. I knew of them, but I can’t say I was that deep into their music. But I went back and studied it, and it’s just amazing. I am ecstatic about that shit.”

The collaboration was executed entirely through email in the same manner as Ariel Pink and Royal Trux frontwoman Jennifer Herrema, who will both appear on the album.

Although there isn’t an official stamp on the release date, we’re keeping our fingers and toes crossed for a 2012 drop.
