Simian Mobile Disco have released details of a new album – ‘Unpatterns’, this will be the fourth-studio release for the English duo.

The only teaser so far is the “Fourteenth Principles” track and features a wildy stripped back, obtuse vocally runed soundscape – a far cry from the bassy and electronic instruments we’re used to.

Release is set for 14/5/2012, the album will be preceded by the single ‘Seraphim’ on April 9, and follows their 2009 LP ‘Temporary Pleasure’ and their debut album, 2007’s ‘Attack Decay Sustain Release’.

A sign of things to go or merely an intro track to much bigger and louder things?
