Rustie wins the Guardians ‘First Album’ award

The Guardian has crowned Russell ‘Rustie‘ Whyte’s debut record ‘Glass Swords’ with the ‘First Album’ award beating out other potential hopefuls James Blake, SBTRKT, The Vaccines and Katy B.

The Guardian said of the album “Rustie constantly chases the next thrill, with rhythmic switch-ups and vivid synths firing in all directions as the album twists, turns and veers off at tangents.”

It wasn’t only the Guardian that fell some praise on both producer and his album but a long list of publications and artists including NPR, FACT, Pitchfork, Resident Advisor, Dazed and Confused, Mix Mag, Skream, Oneman, Joker and plenty plenty more!

Rustie will be here for the Playground Weekender Festival playing alongside Danny Daze, Hudson Mohawk and Art Department as well as various sideshows thanks to Niche.
