Anna Lunoe & Them Jeans – Voodoo

When Voodoo appeared on the blogosphere almost six months ago, I began my mad search for promos, rips, even a release date but was forced to settle for an appearance in Lunoe‘s Ministry of Sound compilation. No longer do we wait my friends, as the dark, egocentric original is set to drop on Norwegian label Fjordin, with a ton of great remixes I should add.

Voodoo slides down a sample-induced slippery dip, swirling below Anna Lunoe‘s sultry vocals and the now accustomed Them Jeans pulsating drums, a festival favourite in the making. Label-head Funkin Matt jumps on board with a flirtatious acid-house-taking-it-to-the-big-rom-stylin’ gem, while John Roman takes a more considered approach, introducing an obvious tribal pattern with an added tech house flavour.

Bang Gang‘s and fellow Australian dance duo Wordlife takes the cake for me though, sliding further and further into the unknowing abyss, bringing with them some bouncy synth work and those pulsating drums. Awesome stuff.

The whole release is out on Feb. 27th, so be first in line to pick this up.
