A-Trak is a pretty buff dude right… right?

Well in a clear leverage of ‘current’ and ‘modern’ music A-Trak along with buzz-bands Toro Y Moi, New Look and Bosco Delrey will hit the pages of a Sports Illustrated Indie Issue.

The editorial coincides with their new 2-day musical festival called… Illustrated Swimsuit Beauties & Beats, held in Las Vegas and will be headlined by the Black Lips and also featuring Maluca, White Denim, Maluca, Delta Spirit, and more.

Without any prior pedigree into independent music it’s hard to see this as anything other than an easy way to leverage off the surging popularity of the sub-culture.

Do you think this really is greater promotion for the artist or a clever way to discover new audiences for Sports Illustrated?
