The full video of the re:generation collaboration between Skrillex and last remaining members of The Doors has gone live.
In one swift blow Hyundai have successfully axed the last shreds of dance credibility by combining one of the most internationally acclaimed and recognised 1960’s rock bands, The Doors and current go-to dubstep ‘dude’ Skrillex on the track “Breakin’ aSweat”.
The video at times effortlessly brings on a sickening feeling when watching members of the band in the studio chanting out a fairly cheesy chorus and notable deadening vocals ‘let’s kick ass’, ‘play that beat again’ and ‘that’s good’ – all of which would have normally found itself in a Flo Rider or Pitbull track.
I get Hyundai are trying something new by appealing to a young/old audience but is harvesting memorable names from a completely different and historically praised era really the way to go?
Almost makes Joy Divisions Peter Hook look like a superstar…
