The Temper Trap to release a ‘dark, synth, led’ album’

Australian Indie-ballad crooners The Temper Trap have discussed with NME that their next offering will be a ‘dark, synth led’ album.

The last instalment reached back to the 2009 ‘Conditions’ album with Sillitto garbing on the fact that it was hard to write new material on tour over the past 3 years.

The Temper Trap’s lead guitarist Lorenzo Sillitto said that the tracks the band had recorded for their new LP are likely to lead to them releasing a “dark, synth album “.

There has also been label pressure for the band to produce something similar to the instant attraction “Sweet Disposition” adored to fans adding: “There’s a huge expectation from our label and fans to record another song as big as ‘Sweet Disposition’. That puts pressure on you to succeed.”

The yet-to-be-named album is due out early this year and will be produced by The Kooks/Belle & Sebastian, which seems strange for the direction and sound.

‘Conditions Remixed’ was the closest the band have come electronically with remixes from Rusko, Bjorn & John, Penguin Prison, Herve and more.
