Avicii, post an all-American 26-stop tour has decided – along with his manager Ash Pournouri, to giveaway 1 million to charity.

The fees will be taken from his coincidently titled ‘House for Hunger’ tour that will kick off January 5th in Detroit, with the money going to Feed America.

When speaking with azcentral the young swede was shocked at the levels of hunger in the States, saying; “For me personally, when I found out how widespread the hunger problem in the United States actually was, it blew my mind. I never would have imagined that 1 in 6 people in America struggle with hunger or that 1 in 4 children routinely do not get enough to eat.” Well, that certainly makes a change from all those reports of skyrocketing American obesity levels”.

The nation’s largest hunger-relief organization comprised of more than 200 food banks across the country.

A second motive behind the donation was also raised in the interview, sparking off the debate of ‘Dance Producers’ partying too much along with alcohol and drug filled parties (never!).

Avicii’s manager Ash was quoted as saying, “I felt it was time to turn a corner and tear down the negative stereotypes of drugs and reckless partying often associated with the house/trance/dance music scene as it’s a far cry from what the reality of electronic music is today. So Avicii and I are putting our money where our mouth is and taking the first step to give back to the country and the fans that have helped shape our careers”.
