One of the greater young nu-disco/house exports Australia is sporting right now is in the form of Cassian. He’s been waxing originals and remixes for an ensemble of stars for a few years since his debut EP on the ever morphing Bang Gang 12 inches label.

He’s also set to release a collaboration with fellow disco-dude Shazam under the Country Club moniker in coming months – be prepared.

The ‘iTunes 5-Shuffle’ is a pretty self-explanatory segment where by producers head to iTunes, click shuffle 5 times, tell us what the track is and the story behind it.

We aim to capture both candid and wise moments.

1. Love Will Guide You feat. Tommie Sunshine (Allen Walker Remix) – Shinichi Osawa

Pretty frenetic blog house type tune that I totally forgot I had. 2008 vibes!

2. Car Chase (Arp Worship) – The Chemical Brothers

This is from the Hanna soundtrack that the Chem Bros did. Pretty “soundtrack” type tune feature some nice raw synth programming/modulations

3. Blunt Blowin – Lil Wayne

Off the Carter IV. I think my favourite tune off this album is How To Hate or maybe the Outtro (specifically Busta’s verse). But this is still pretty epic. Young Money!

4. Start It Up – A Tribe Called Quest

Classic. Love the drums and my head really gets bobbling when the bass comes back in halfway through

5. Into The Night (Renaissance Man Extended Mix) – Azari & III

The remixes for this tune where so good and this one is no exception. Really good techno. Looking forward to hearing the new Azari & III stuff!
