Ben Browning – I Can’t Stay (Knightlife Remix)

Did someone say summer anthem? Those two words are uttered far too much and associated with a lot of shit really, but just like Knightlife did three years ago with his sun-soaked reprise of Cut Copy‘s ‘So Haunted‘, the Melbourne disco prodigy returns with another indie house banger out the top draw.

Ben Browning, the bassist out of Cut Copy for those playing at home, dishes up a tasty, laid back treat in I Can’t Stay, using lazy synths, tropical bass and glazed vocals to create, well, a track that wouldn’t be too lost on a Cut Copy record.

It’s the Knightlife remix that claims top prize however, as he really digs in his heels and takes inspiration from his earlier work, concocting a lush ballad of stifling vocals, clanky disco melody and taking that title of summer anthem.
