Sydney’s fast rising production duo What So Not will shortly release their “7 Dollar Bill EP”. We’ve been on these guys for a minute, following their rise from bootleggin’ legends through to producers of some really next level original tracks, and after hearing the teasers for their first release, it’s clear the world’s spotlight will be on them shortly.
Comprised of 4 tracks of surprising variance, the EP is nothing short of an absolute monster. Ranging from Moombahton, to Ghetto Glam to the deeper emotive electronic realm, this EP really showcases the masterful production skill of the pair, and their ability to span and conquer genres like few can.
The title track, 7 Dollar Bill is a glitchy rump shaker which will no doubt be lighting up festival stages world wide just in time for summer, while Love Theme comprises deep house leads and ingenious percussion with huge wamping bass to kind of make you want to make out pretty hard with anyone who may cross your path on the dance floor.
Get Busy Y’all is everything Moombahton should be, with sirens ringing and horn samples a plenty. While not really to my own taste, it seems that this track will easily blow wanna be Moombahbro’s da fuk out da water. Featuring the vocals of Astrix Little, Imperial again steps into the realm of Love Theme in terms of the emotive angle, in what I’m going to call Dance Wave. Again from the preview, it’s hard to tell exactly where this track goes but I can’t wait to find out.
Due out soon on awesome local imprint Sweat it out, this release will be huge. Can’t wait to see the kind of traction this gets!
