Zeds Dead Performance Cancelled Due to Crowd Overdoses

The mind-blowing shows that Canadian dubstep team ZEDS DEAD are recognized for is what makes them so internationally renowned, but this past weekend marks the first time the duo has cancelled a performance due to a number of overdoses throughout their Philadelphia all-ages crowd.

A shocking 9 overdoses were reported by Philly police at the Electric Factory in Center City, which is raising serious questions about the use of illegal substances amongst the younger crowd.

It goes without saying what the crowd gets up to/gets on at these shows, and Facebook and Twitter have been beaming with conversation since the event, with talk of a ‘bad batch’ that was going around prior to the nights performance. Overdoses and drug use are not a rarity at EDM shows, but for the amount of crowd members passing out so early in the show- especially with majority of the crowd being teenagers- it left no choice for ZEDS DEAD but to wrap it up early.

All cases were taken to the hospital and are expected to recover, but this has definitely scared off ZEDS DEAD from another all-ages Philly gig for a while!

Despite the bad turn of events, the headliners did manage to keep the older crowd entertained, moving their show down the road to the LIT Ultra Bar for a +21 performance that stretched out until 4am.

Looks as though the youngsters need to slow down with their chemicals out in Philly!
